Product Description
This rifle-style ray gun features glass elements as part of the gun barrel and fin housings. The green glass orbs have quite a depth to them and seem to glow as if lit from within. The blue lustre glaze turned a gorgeous color on this gun, a combination of very bright copper-penny and the deepest cobalt blue, with a nice, distressed, half-melted feel to it.
The Raku Ray Guns are sized for the human hand. This one measures about 25" long by 11" tall. Each Raku Ray Gun comes with a ceramic moon crater plaque wall mount. The gun rests on brass hooks embedded in the plaque which provide a sturdy support. The plaque has an attached wire on the back, for hanging on the wall.
The visual roots that inspire these sculptures include sci-fi magazine covers from the 30's,40's and 50's, the styling cues from 50's automobiles, and design elements from Art Deco and Art Nouveau which contribute to the Steampunk flavor of the Raku Ray Guns.
When shipping, each of the ray guns are very carefully packed in yards of bubble wrap and double boxed.
