Ol' Marvin just sprang to mind when this ray gun emerged from the kiln. There are some wonderful textures on this gun, including the rainbow-colored, dry-lakebed look of the gun body and the glaze on the handle that resembles molten metal.
The Raku Ray Guns are sized for the human hand. This one measures about 17" long by 11" tall. Each Raku Ray Gun comes with a ceramic moon crater plaque wall mount. The gun rests on brass hooks embedded in the plaque which provide a sturdy support. The plaque has an attached wire on the back, for hanging on the wall.
The visual roots that inspire these sculptures include sci-fi magazine covers from the 30's,40's and 50's, the styling cues from 50's automobiles, and design elements from Art Deco and Art Nouveau which contribute to the Steampunk flavor of the Raku Ray Guns.
When shipping we very carefully pack the ray guns with yards of bubble wrap and double box them.
