Product Description
Hand-made raku-fired pendants, charms, connectors and beads are available at wholesale prices to bead suppliers, retail stores, jewelry artists, etc. Many beautiful and unusual designs are available and new designs are produced regularly. Custom designs are possible. With a purchase of at least $200, pendants range in price from $8 each to $20, depending on complexity.
The pendants are made of porcelain clay and vary in size from 1 1/4" wide X 1 1/4" long to 1 1/2" X 1 1/2". The thinner drops are about 1/2" wide X 1 3/4" long. Smaller charms, for use as bracelet charms or earring drops are also available and vary from 1/2" X 1/2" to 3/4" X 3/4", depending on design.
Many of the pendants feature a 3mm hole through the side of the pendant for stringing. The large size of the hole allows them to be strung on cords that already have a small clasp attached. Other pendants have a 3mm copper loop glued in to the top or two small copper loops glued in to either side of the pendant, to accept jump rings, or a bail glued on to the back of the pendant. Many pendants also have a small copper loop glued in to the bottom of the pendant for attaching a dangle of smaller beads. We're able to customize the pendants to suit your preference for type of bail or loop.
The designs I use are based on balinese wood carving, celtic knotwork and middle eastern plant forms, as well as my interest in the science fiction and steampunk genres. I hand form the pendants into a variety of shapes: round, oval, lozenge, shell, amorphous, tear drop, diamond.
Raku glazes are exceptionally beautiful, with effects ranging from gorgeous flashy copper lustre and opalescent gold and bronze to matte, deeply textured glazes with copper, purple and blue and a red glaze that is a deep scarlet with fine crackles. The colors are very jewel-like and most of the glazes have an iridescent or opalescent sheen. Our glazes are well sealed with silicone grout sealant and will not change color over time.
